Term 2 - Students of the Week

Week Five

Year 7
Jevin Gunawardana
Rm 10
Jevin is an exceptional student who will rise to tackle any challenge placed in front of him, be it physically, mentally and/or socially. He is a very quiet and humble person who is respected by his peers for his helpfulness and friendly demeanour. We love having him in class due to his positive contrition to class life and his awesome thinking skills. Jevin is a great role model for others to aspire to through his excellent attitude to all aspects of school life and the great way he interacts with those around him.

Year 8
Celine Davis
Rm 13
Every class needs “a little ray of sunshine” to lift morale. Someone whose smile is bright, broad and infectious to all those in close proximity. Someone whose positive, radiant personality reminds us that above all, life is meant to be enjoyed and lived to the full. Celine does all of this and much, much more! She can always be relied on to provide an excellent role model for her peers and is highly respected for her wonderful sense of humour and high set of moral values that endear her to all who have the privilege of knowing her. Celine is an awesome student who has all of the qualities we love in our young achievers!

Week Four

Year 7
Ariarn Dalbeth
Rm 3 
Ariarn is a person with a vibrant personality. She is an excellent role model as she is reliable, responsible, respectful and always gives things  100%. Ariarn has endless talents and is involved in Orchestra, J Rock, Gymnastics Festival, Rock Band and Netball. She makes the most of every opportunity given to her as an excellent self-manager who persists with all activities in class even those she finds challenging. Last but not least she shows empathy towards her peers and teacher, bringing positivity to the class.

Year 8
Nathan Rangihuna
 
Rm 22
Nathan is a quiet student but one who consistently demonstrates high standards. He always meets deadlines by producing top quality work using his positive work habits to good effect. He shows a level of maturity and responsibility to ensure he is making the most of his education. Nathan understands that he has to work on his weaknesses in order to improve in what ever he is working on.  He has set SMART goals in 2011 and striving to achieve to the best of his ability! Nathan is a key contributor and member in the schools top Frisbee, Rugby and Touch teams.

Week Three

Year 7
Sam Cirolli
Rm 20
Sam is a person who is always reliable, responsible and respectful towards everybody he interacts with. He is also cheerful with a great fair play attitude. Sam strives for accuracy in all that he does and manages himself extremely well in all situations. He has made the most of every opportunity given to him and constantly ponders about what we study in class, never assuming anything. Sam is an irreplaceable member of Room 20E and an absolute pleasure to teach!

Year 8
Maikara Kereopa-Graham
Rm 17
Maikara always comes to school with a great attitude and a smile on his face. He is often the first to class and regularly helps to set up for the day. Maikara is successful due to his ‘can do’ approach and hard work. He always gives his best to everything he does, demonstrating the values we hold dear at GisInt along the way. Maikara is thoughtful and shows empathy towards others. He has a great sense of fun and is much appreciated and well liked by his Room 17 teacher and classmates. Well done Maikara!

Week Two

Year 7
Paula Jeune
Rm 15
Paula is an outstanding student who demonstrates all the attributes of a student that GisInt values. She has excellent self management skills and consistently completes quality work. She is a natural leader who is well respected by all. Paula is class captain, involved in the school orchestra, plays the guitar, plays soccer, and participates in Otago Problem Solving and the Australasian Exams. Paula is an exemplary role model and a pleasure to have.

Year 8
Myah Jex-Blake
Rm 5
Myah is a multi- talented student who willingly takes a leadership role and seeks out new challenges and opportunities. She is a dedicated and driven student who consistently finishes tasks on time and to a high standard demonstrating persistence in the quest to get things right. Her ability is not limited to the classroom however. Myah is a talented athlete who represents the school in a multitude of sporting codes, as well as a student council representative. Her keen wit and sense of humour also lighten up our classroom.

Week One

Year 7
Brooke Thompson
Rm 4
Brooke is an exceptional student who shows great self management. She has proven to be diligent in all learning areas and extra curricular activities. Brooke‟s perseverance and motivation allows her to give everything a go. She is a keen participant of “J Rock” and uses her drama skills when needed in class. Along with all of her considerable talents she is also a very caring and loyal classmate who is always punctual and these attributes make her a valued member of Room 4.

Year 8
Damon Jukes
Rm 19
Damon is an inspired young achiever! He listens to instructions and follows them to the letter, seeking clarification when needed. Damon completes all tasks to a high standard and displays higher order thinking by offering multiple viewpoints. He is very quiet in nature but his mind is always in overdrive. Damon‟s integrity is a great quality and he is a top role model in Rm 19.
