Week Eleven  | Year 8 Ella Chrisp-Nichol
Room 1
Ella is a highly motivated student both in class and in the general school environment. She continually seeks opportunities to extend herself and thrives on working independently where her creativity and divergent thinking comes to the fore. Ella is an excellent role model for her peers, modelling exceptional qualities of kindness, compassion and honesty. She is a very genuine person whose passion for life and a capacity to see the glass as always half full is an inspiration to all who are associated with her.

Year 7 Monte Radburn Room 10
Monte is a fine all rounder with great interpersonal skills and top class manners. He consistently demonstrates leadership skills and is very supportive of others. Monte achieves academically to a very good standard, meeting all challenges physically, socially and mentally along the way. He is an outstanding team and class member who is great at writing arguments and presenting speeches. A fine role model to others.

Week Ten  | Year 8 Maryanne Samuel Room 16
Maryanne is a positive and energised student who actively shows leadership qualities and is a true role model at Gisborne Intermediate. She works hard in class and always completes work to a high standard. Maryanne shows compassion and support to fellow class members and throughout the school. She is held in great esteem for her distinctive role as Kai Karanga both in the Whakatane exchange and here at Gisint with the welcoming of the Education Review Office.

Year 7 Nathan Rangihuna Room 4
It was once said that “Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other”. Nathan is a young man who lives by this quote. He is always striving to meet the series of challenges put in front of him. Nathan inspires people around him to be the best that they can be by giving 100%. He is always prepared to extend himself academically, setting smart goals and achieving them. Even though he is an amazing rugby player with a bright future he also places an importance on his school work. He’s a legend!

Week Eight  | Year 8 Lily Dodgshun Room 5
Lily is a model student. She always strives to reach her maximum potential and maintains a high standard in all her school work. She has excellent self management skills, is willing to take on responsibility and can be relied upon to carry out efficiently any task she is set. Lily is involved in many school activities such representing the school for sports, school patrols and is in the school production. She is kind and respectful to others and works well in a team situation. Her honesty and integrity contribute strongly to the responsible and diligent person she is. She is a pleasure to teach and have as a member of the classroom.

Year 7 Hannah Geuze Room 18
Hannah is a superb example of a GisInt role model. She is an expert at managing herself and her learning. Hannah takes pride in her work which is always presented to immaculate standards. She is always empathetic and happy to help everyone. Hannah is a real asset who is appreciated and is a pleasure to have as part of Room 18.

Week Seven  | Year 8 Steven Tworow Room 15
Steven is a well mannered, diligent, independent thinking student who puts in 100% into whatever he does. He always uses his initiative and contributes to all group discussions with an expert level of higher order thinking that enables the group as a whole to take their own understanding to a whole new level. Steven has a natural aptitude for sports, is an excellent musician and a respected member of Room 15.

Year 7 Hannah Turnbull Room 3
Hannah demonstrates all the values we hold as important at Gisborne Intermediate. She is very supportive towards others and always displays a positive attitude. Hannah is an expert self manager who works hard, therefore, reaps the rewards. She is a much respected member of Room 3 and a great role model for others to follow.

Week Six  | Year 8 Laquitta Mengel Room 13
Laquitta is a fantastic student who puts in 100% to whatever she does. She has amazing manners and always comes with a positive attitude. She is a role model and displays expert habits of mind attributes. She always uses her initiative and is extremely helpful. She helps as a road patrol and in the cafe. She is a well liked and respected member of Room 13 and a pleasure to teach.

Year 7 Talicha Herrick Room 21
Talicha is a motivated self driven student who always aims to please. She is the first to school with a happy smile and positive attitude. She is honest, trustworthy and conscientious towards people and schoolwork. She has an outstanding work ethic and strives for excellent results at all times. She is always happy to lend a hand to anyone. Room 21 is privileged to have her in their class.

Week Five  | Year 8 Kyla Ropitini Room 22
Kyla is a fantastic all round student who displays expert Habits of Mind attributes, especially managing self and persisting in all that she does. She displays great initiative and just gets on with the job at hand. Kyla is always courteous and polite towards others with a fantastic attitude towards school and learning. Kyla is a pleasure to have in the class and to teach.

Year 7 Vipasha Mehta Room 20
Vipasha is a superb example of a Gisborne Intermediate role model. She is an expert at managing herself and her learning as well as always being willing to help others. Vipasha uses her initiative and consistently goes beyond what is expected. She is a very well liked and respected member of Room 20.

Week Four  | Year 8 Joel Akroyd Room 19
The eternally brilliant student. Top effort in all he does. Kind, caring, thoughtful and humble, always one to quietly get on and do what he needs to. Joel shows initiative in the class at all times and can be counted on to see what needs doing and just do it. A role model. He is an expert in all areas of Habits of Mind. Constantly seeking to achieve to the highest of his ability. The kind of student every teacher loves. Joel is a pleasure to teach.

Year 7 Travis Brown Room 17
Travis is an expert self manager who consistently manages impulsivity and is always kind and considerate to others. He is always courteous and polite. Travis has a fantastic attitude towards school and learning. He has a “can do” attitude himself and encourages others to do the same. Travis consistently demonstrates good sportsmanship and is certainly an excellent role model to have at GisInt.

Week Three  | Year 8 Alana Andrews Room 1
Alana is a delightful student who always adopts a positive attitude to all activities. She is an independent worker who is very self-critical in regard to her finished products. Alana is an expert self-manager who takes tremendous pride in all that she does. Her radiant personality, that always includes a beaming smile, coupled with an empathy for others make her a popular and highly respected student with her peers. Alana is a truly great role model!

Year 7 Sulieti Halafihi Room 11
Sulieti is a confident, outgoing student who has a wonderful sense of humour and zest for life. She always comes to school with a smile, positive attitude and is well organised. She uses her initiative at all times and often completes tasks without needing to be asked. Sulieti is an all round achiever. She has empathy for others and is always willing to lend a hand where needed which makes her a great asset to have at GisInt!

Week Two  | Year 8 Fraser Eddowes Room 5
Fraser is a model GisInt student. He has great leadership skills, being captain of the cricket team and class rep. Fraser has excellent self management skills, is well respected by his peers and is a great team player. He is a quality student with exceptional values. He is a pleasure to have at Gisborne Intermediate.

Year 7 Cree Ratapu Room 3
Cree is an all round special person. He is an expert self manager and strives to do his best in all areas of his school life. He demonstrates the values we hold at GisInt. He is modest and thoughtful, showing empathy towards others, often supporting those in need. He has the ability to relate positively with everyone he works with. This makes him a respected member of Room 3.

Week One  | Year 8 Kirsty Cranswick Room 15
Kirsty is a keen learner with a natural understanding of Habits of Mind. Independently she strives for accuracy and persistence. Kirsty shines as a leader both in co-operative learning groups and sports teams. This is most evident in her ability to get others motivated about learning, by directing and assisting across all areas of need. Kirsty is a respected and revered member of Room 15.

Year 7 Skylah Pohatu Room 10
Skylah is an outstanding all round individual. She has developed good relationships with all class members, contributes to the class in and outside the room and strives to work hard across all curriculum areas. Skylah has already represented our school in triathlon, touch and golf. She takes on new challenges and is an ‘awesome’ person to have in class who is a great role model to others.
