Term 4 - Students of the Week

Week Five

Year 7
George Andrew
Rm 10
George is an ultimate all-rounder. With absolutely no fuss, he quietly excels academically and in a wide range of sporting activities. George was a highly valued member of the 1st XI soccer team and is a gifted athlete. He has very good manners and values, which he displays consistently. Combined with his modesty, George is a great role model to others and a valued member of Room 10.

Year 8
Monte Radburn
Rm 12
Monte is an outstanding student. He displays maturity and personal qualities that are beyond his years. Monte makes the most of any learning situation and seeks ways to continually improve. He involves himself in everything and assists his peers in making right choices. Monte is an amazing role-model and demonstrates most Habits of Mind at an expert level. He sees the positive in any situation and has a fantastic sense of humour. His drive and ambition to succeed will ensure an exciting future. Monte It has been a privilege to have you as part of our class this year.

Week Four

Year 7
Hannah Overbye
Rm 20E
Hannah always makes the most of opportunities offered to her at GisInt. She is reliable, responsible and respectful towards everybody which is why her class elected her as one of their classroom Sport Ed. Captains. Hannah is an excellent role model and is always prepared to extend herself both academically and socially… even if she drives her teacher mad with her Llama song. She is an absolute pleasure to teach and an essential member of Room 20E!

Year 8
Bonnie Taylor
Rm 16
Bonnie is a self motivated learner who continually strives to do her best. She has excelled in many areas of the curriculum, with high results in reading, writing and maths. Bonnie always completes tasks to a high standard in terms of quality and presentation, where her excellent art skills come to the fore. She works hard at areas of weakness and persists in other areas that she doesn’t have interests in. She is quick to take on new concepts and ask questions about things she is unsure of. Bonnie is an absolute pleasure to have in Room 16.

Week Three

Year 7
Amelia & Maggie Wilson
Rm 15
Maggie and Amelia are two awesome role models. They have excellent self management skills and consistently produce quality work. Amelia & Maggie both support school wide activities, always do their best and challenge themselves in all areas of learning; academically, physically and socially. Their manners are impeccable and they are always considerate and courteous to others. Maggie & Amelia are an absolute pleasure to have at Gisborne Intermediate.

Year 8
Nikita Brown-Garrett
Rm 1
Nikita is a very positive and enthusiastic student who is always willing to challenge herself and give new things a go. She has excellent self-management skills and strives for accuracy in everything she does which has resulted in Nikita being selected for extension groups and the year 8 netball team. She is a role model for others, especially in the positive way she interacts with both teachers and students. Nikita mixes well with peers throughout the school and is a highly valued member of Room 1.

Week Two

Year 7
Charly Cleaver
Rm 18
Charly is an absolute pleasure to have in class. Always offering to help the teacher
and fellow peers, she shows kindness and consideration to those around her. Charly
has got into the spirit of GisInt this year by trying out for a variety of sports teams and
taking music. She has represented the school in netball and waka ama. Charly has
shown incredible leadership qualities – she is the class student rep, and has been an
outstanding class team captain. She has fantastic problem solving skills, both in her
work and socially. Charly takes pride in her work and strives for excellence and
accuracy. A very deserving recipient.

Year 8
Olivia Knight
Rm 19
Olivia is the ultimate self manager. She has a positive attitude towards all endeavours.
Whenever there is a task or event, Libby is the first to get involved with full gusto. She
exhibits all the habits of mind that will ensure that her future high school years will
be fun-packed and incredibly successful. Libby is trustworthy with a capital T and
has been involved in a number of extension groups. With homework tasks and
independent activities, you can count on Libby to take a leadership role in making
sure that tasks are completed to a high standard within and across groups. Her
higher order thinking is legendary. Olivia is a legend of Room 19!

Week One

Year 7
Alice Hirst
Rm 3
Alice is always a cheerful and helpful student who is willing to “go the extra mile.”She is a great role model who has a “can do” attitude. Alice is an expert self manager and a skilled team player, who gets out of her comfort zone and enjoys a challenge. She has been involved in JRock and achieved well in the cross country and triathlon. Her positive attitude towards school and learning enables her to apply herself well in all learning areas and strive for accuracy. She is always super helpful, courteous and polite. An awesome student!

Year 8
Mikayla Craill
Rm 22
Mikayla is an outstanding student who demonstrates all of the attributes of a student that GisInt values. She has fantastic interpersonal and thinking skills, is an expert self manager and she consistently finishes work to a high standard. Mikayla is a multi talented student who willingly takes on leadership roles with a desire to seek out new challenges and opportunities. She is a wonderful speechmaker and presenter, a student council rep as well as performing to a high standard at the variety show! Rm 22 is absolutely privileged to have Mikayla in the class.
