Dance and Drama

Drama classes are held during even years. Dance classes in odd years.

Drama

Enrichment and Extension: A full school musical is held each even year with students across the school participating if they are interested. Shows are performed for fellow students and the wider public as well as visiting schools. Our production of "We're History" received rave reviews in 2006.

RATBAGS - A musical - will be performed by a talented bunch of outstanding Actors and Actresses in Term Three. Directed by Michelle Hall - our Drama Teacher

Dance

Dance at Gisborne Intermediate school is taken during odd years. Students will be involved in Dance as part of the Tech Arts cycle. They study dances from a variety of cultures, learn traditional and contemporary dance moves from Pacific, Maori and Latin cultures. They choreograph dances, use props as part of dance routines and work in small and large groups. At the end of the cycle the students choreograph and assess a dance routine they have a particular interest in.

Enrichment and Extension is available in the form of Hip Hop classes. Students compete locally and this year two of our groups have competed at the Nationals and were placed 3rd in New Zealand!!!
